In plain terms: I help companies get products designed, built, shipped and sold across borders — 22 years in the office-chair trade, now working across seven countries. If it needs to move from one market to another and come out worth more, that is my work.

What that means for you
You need to source or build in ChinaI have run the factory — 10,000 m², BIFMA-certified lines. I audit systems, not showrooms.
You want to enter a new marketI hold live nodes in 7 countries — US, Brazil, Pakistan, Cameroon, Malaysia and more.
You have resources that don't connectThat is literally my method — the 1 + 1 = 11 story below is a true one.
Connect·Integrate·Multiply 1 + 1 = 11

“I connect people, resources, ideas and opportunities that normally would never connect — and turn unexpected connections into new possibilities and multiplied value.”

Everything on this site comes from one thing: twenty-two years of learning how people, markets, products, factories, capital, technology and opportunities connect — and how they can be connected differently.

This is not a list of what I have done. It is one way of seeing — the reason I notice connections other people walk past.

01 — WHO I AM

One proposition, many chapters.

I am a Global Linker. The roles were chapters. This is the through-line.

Why am I a linker? Because I was never only one thing.

“I connect people, resources, ideas and opportunities that normally would never connect — and turn unexpected connections into new possibilities and multiple value.”

The roles I have played

A single supplier A furniture factory owner A trader An e-commerce operator A broker A product designer A project investor A consultant

Each of them is real. None of them is the point. What runs through all of them is one capability: I connect what normally would never connect.

First — the name

I gave myself two names.

Steven — because in my last year of university I played a character called Steven in a stage play, and I liked who I was on that stage. Kermit — the English name my foreign teacher helped me choose, back in the same years. Two chapters of my life, connected again today: two perspectives, one new possibility.

My legal name is Li Long (李龙) — it signs the contracts. But everyone who has worked with me over the past twenty-two years knows me as Steven. And the name on everything I am building next is Steven Kermit.

I majored in British & American literature. Maybe that's why I never saw a chair as just a chair — every product has a person behind it, and every person has a story.

02 — WHY I BECAME A LINKER

My world kept getting bigger. My capability kept getting sharper.

This is not a career ladder. It is an evolution — from owning capacity, to connecting capacity, to amplifying connections. Every link below was walked, not imagined.

2004 · CHINA

Where it started

A young salesman at a state-owned trade company, pointing at a product wall of office chairs. I didn't know it yet — everything that follows is about this chair.

Steven at a state-owned trade company booth, 2004-2005, pointing at an office chair poster

In between these two photos: selling and assembling chairs on my knees in Orlando · years on the buyer's side, representing European clients in China · my own factory rising in Longjiang. The full chapters live in the work — this page keeps only the turning points.

2015 · USA — THE ORIGIN STORY 🐸

Why a frog, a chair and an email?

Fair question. It makes no sense — for about three more seconds.

🐸KermitIdentity — the playful English name I chose in university + 🪑ChairCapability — the supply chain he knew by heart + ✉️EmailConnection — one message to Jonathan = 11

yes — a frog, a chair and an email. now watch it turn real.

I did not invent a new product. I already had a chair supply chain; Jonathan already had a chair business and a market. One simple email connected two things that already existed — and the connection produced what none of the three elements could produce alone.

The email came the morning after a container landed: “Friday I sold 47 of your chairs for almost $10,000.” The connection became a relationship, the relationship became a business, and the business grew to its best years — ending the way a good connection should: Jonathan transferred the whole thing as a genuine success.

KERMIT the frog walking off with the best chair — the brand story image Customer email, October 2015: 47 chairs sold in one day for almost $10,000 (customer details blurred)

Oh — this actually happened. The frog was my name. The chair was my product. The email was sent on a real morning, about a real container. And the exit was real too. Not a slogan, not arithmetic — the smallest complete proof of how I think: People + Capability + Connection = New Possibility.

Then it kept happening — the same equation, different elements
Lima + China supply chain + Brazil market Tahir + China CKD + Humayun + Pakistan assembly Simo + China supply chain + Cameroon Malaysia processing + China semi-finished + USA China new technology + global markets even Steven + Kermit — two names, one new identity

Every one of them is 1 + 1 + 1 = 11. This is the origin story of Magic for Link — seeing unexpected connections, and turning them into real-world possibilities.

2017 · THE TURNING POINT

The fire — and the stage

A fire tore through Sino International Furniture — my own factory, 20,000 chairs a month, 100% export. Six months later, Amazon invited me on stage as a featured speaker at its Seller Summit. The lowest point and the industry's recognition — in the same twelve months.

The Sino International Furniture factory before the 2017 fire — clean white workshop buildings
Before · 20,000 chairs a month, 100% export
The same workshop after the 2017 fire — burned walls, steel frames, a crane clearing the site
After · the days after the fire

Both photos are real and unretouched — the only edit is a crop. The white buildings are what “my own factory” looked like; the burned frames are what the morning after looked like. It is also the reason every supply chain I build today is audited for exactly this kind of risk.

Steven speaking at the Amazon seller summit, late 2017

“The fire ended my factory. It did not end my understanding of manufacturing — it sharpened it. From that day, I moved from owning capacity to connecting capacity.”

2018 · INDIA

Invited to teach the teachers

Around October 2018, a leading Indian office-seating manufacturer invited me into their own plant to train their people in design and production. Peer-level recognition from the industry itself — the strongest credential a manufacturer can receive.

Then · around October 2018

A Chennai showroom, 6 October 2018 — testing the seating myself before talking about it · then inside their plant, training designers and line people.

Now · the same company
Today: rows of moulds in front of the injection machines at the same Indian seating manufacturer Today: the full injection hall under a gantry crane, machine lines stretching to the far wall Today: a warehouse of racking and packing stock, loading for delivery Today: the corridor of the company's own visual design center — arches, a tasting bar with upholstered stools, tile floor

Mould shop · injection hall · packing and warehouse — and their own visual design center. None of this happened because of me — I was a teacher for a few weeks, and the company did the rest.

“Teaching is the only work that keeps growing after you leave the room.”

2024 · GHLA

GHLA — Global Home Living Alliance

A product, brand and partnership platform — not a company with shareholders, but an alliance: China supply chain, European assembly, Brazilian distribution, American retail, with AI underneath. GHLA is one example of the method — Magic for Link is the method itself.

Ask me how this equation plays out in your market →
03 — HOW I SEE LIFE, THE WORLD & VALUE

One method. One belief.

Before the method, the belief behind it — what I believe creates value. Everything else on this site follows from this.

What I believe creates value · Integration & Multiple Value

Not 1 + 1 = 2. 1 + 1 > 2 — sometimes 1 + 1 = 11.

“11” is not arithmetic — it is the frog story you have just read. It is what happens when different people, resources, capabilities, markets and capital are recombined in the right way: a new system whose value is greater than what each part was worth on its own.

Connect. Integrate. Multiply.

And here is how I connect

Magic for Link is not a slogan. It is the method.

Not networking. Not brokering. Closer to Connector + Integrator + Value Multiplier — and the difference is visible in the arithmetic.

EXPERIENCE×INSIGHT×CONNECTION×INTEGRATION×TIME×AI
↓  Multiple Value  ↓

Why can I see connections other people walk past? Because I have stood in almost every seat in the chain — supplier, factory owner, exporter, buyer's agent, retailer, broker, investor — across three continents. Most people see the chain from one chair. I have sat in all of them — so I see the whole table. This is why the method cannot be copied from a book

Steven's handwritten notes from May 2018: life experience → distilled experience → distilled methodology

My own notebook, May 2018 — years before “Magic for Link” had a name. The method was written down first; the vocabulary came later.

  • 人生经历 → What you lived
  • 经验沉淀 → What you learned from it
  • 方法论沉淀 → What you can repeat

“经历的价值不在于你经历了什么,而在于你沉淀了什么。”
The value of experience is not what you lived — it is what you distilled.

I do not chase industries. I connect capabilities to opportunities.

Office seating is my deepest entry point — not my boundary. The underlying capability is always the same four things: China supply chain + global market insight + cross-cultural connection + resource integration. Industries change. Products change. Countries change. Clients change. Linking → Integrating → Creating Value does not.

04 — PROOF

Three cases. Same method.

A customer who became family. A partner in Brazil whose chain was built from zero. A relationship that opened a whole new industry. Then a product that became a shared cultural symbol. Same method every time — and none of it could have been produced alone.

Why am I a linker? Because the proof is twenty-two years long.

◆ Every photograph on this site was taken in real life — no AI generation, no staging, no retouching. The only drawing in these pages is a small frog, and even his story is true.

Steven and Mary — twenty years, from customer to family
Human Connection Florida · 20+ years

The customer who became family.

“Mary was my customer. Then my friend. Then family — and I am, in every way that matters, her closest person. Twenty years, and the relationship quietly changed its nature: Customer → Relationship → Trust → Family.”

This one is not a business case, and it is not meant to sit beside the others. We started with people. Twenty years later she still sits in a chair I brought to her shop: “I sit in it every working day. It keeps its shape, supports my back, and still looks this good — that's why it's the one I recommend.”

Steven and TAHIR of Pakistan — more than a decade, from customer to friend to new venture
Relationship × Industry Pakistan — Karachi

An old relationship, a whole new industry.

“Tahir and I go back well over a decade. When I saw the e-bike opportunity — CKD kits, assembled in his Karachi factory — the first call was to him. Long relationship → new industry → new business model.”

Steven with Lima and his wife in China, 2018 — the customer era before the partnership
Business Connection Brazil — Jestel Brazil

A full chain, built from zero with a former customer.

“2018: Lima was my customer. Three years later, my partner. Today we run the full chain — China sourcing and product development, Brazil import, local sales on Mercado Livre and Amazon. Customer → Partner. Shared risk, shared value — and a business that did not exist before we built it together.”

A live message, not a claim Client WhatsApp · recent

Sold out. Then I pushed him to order more.

“By the way, now its zero stock.” — a client's message, exactly as it arrived. A partner who sells out is the best proof a supply chain can give. My reply: “you should give order of 2*40'HQ at least — you are much stronger than you ever thought.” That is the job: not just supplying the order, but pushing the partner's courage when the market says yes. The photo he sent with it was a thumbs-up from his warehouse.

Quality · the paperwork nobody fakes

I inspect like a buyer. Because I was one.

These are my own bilingual inspection checklists — every component listed, every defect photographed and named: fractures, rust, scratches, a wrong screw head, a handprint on a seat cushion. Gas lifters specified by BIFMA class, written into the purchase terms. Red notes that reject a whole connection type. And loading is engineered too — chrome star bases stacked honeycomb so the container carries zero wasted air. Cost is designed in at the drawing stage; quality is enforced at the factory floor. Your order gets both.

Product × Culture × Marketing Proof · 311 Collection → 12 Constellations

From one product line to a shared cultural symbol.

The 311 Collection was the product system — a professional design language, originally seven or eight styles. It then grew to the full twelve and was renamed 12 Constellations. That is not a rename, and it is not a marketing trick. It is a capability:

Product→System→Concept→Story→Symbol→Content→Marketing

Flow Collection and 311 Collection are products and design language — for professionals. “12 Constellations” turns that very same system into something everyone already knows, remembers and shares. That is the link I make: connecting products with people's imagination.

Twenty years ago, a young salesman pointed at someone else's chair in a trade-fair booth. Today it is mine: 311H7 — flagship of the 311 Collection, designed around the human form, and the seat that became Taurus. The same chair, two eras, one continuous link.

A network is not a diagram. It is containers that arrived on time.

Containers queue for the dock. Inside, the racks run floor to ceiling. At the doors, boxes go into the next container and out to the market. Every node here is a yard, a rack, a schedule that holds — the part of linking nobody puts on a slide.

The USA — a strategic node, not a memory

Orlando: my long-term US base and market gateway.

This is not “I once lived in America.” Florida is where I have first-hand market knowledge, twenty years of relationships, a local connection through Mary, and the practical low-cost base to land, stay and build — four roles in one node: market gateway, operating base, fulfilment node, business-development hub.

That is not a list of what I will do. It is what one working node makes possible — with the right partner.

06 — MY BUSINESS ARCHITECTURE

Two questions. One machine.

“I am not a single supplier. I am a connector, an integrator and a value creator.” So this section answers only the two questions a partner actually has — why I can do it, and what it is like to work with me. Nothing else belongs here.

Why I can do it · 我凭什么能做成
A supply chain held as one systemManufacturing · channels · logistics · finance, wired together — not negotiated piece by piece.
Trust that has already lasted decadesEN · CN · PT, across three continents. My relationships are measured in decades, not in deals.

“Every seat in the chain” includes these three.

Booth, store, stage. My own stand at a Tokyo trade fair, price tags in yen. My chairs on a client's shelves in 2017, sat on by strangers who will never know my name. Invited on stage at the Amazon Global Seller Summit, showing the industry how a chair is really built. Not renderings, not metaphors — booth, store, stage: I have occupied them all.

What working with me feels like · 跟我合作是什么体验

The principle first: the partner makes money first. If the model only works for me, it is the wrong model. In practice, working with me reads like this:

You keep your market.— I do not sell to your customers and do not compete with your retail. Your market stays yours; I build the engine behind you.
You don't carry the risk alone.— Light asset, low inventory, local partners doing local things. Scale is never bought with your stock.
You don't get a price war.— The conversation is about a differentiated product and a value chain, never about the last 2% of price.
You get a system, not a shipment.— Every project is built to leave something repeatable behind: product, brand, channel, local operation.

In practice, that has meant three things so far: China supply chain & product development — OEM / ODM, materials, BOM, cost, QC, spoken from both the factory floor and the buyer's side · local assembly & distribution hubs — starting from the Baltics, with partners I have known for decades · partner-first business models — I am never the one standing in front of your customer.

Global · Win-Win · Sustainable — 连接世界,创造共赢 · Connect the World, Create Win-Win

What I'm building · three layers of one thing
Steven Kermit — the person— the experience, judgement and relationships the work is built on. You are reading this layer now.
GHLA — the system— the method twenty-two years turned into: people first, then supply chain, design and value. Not a company; a way of choosing.
SEATZONE PRO — the platform— where the method becomes real seating: collections, specifications, heavy-duty and outdoor lines, built for B2B buyers.

Explore SEATZONE PRO → — if you want to see the method running as a business, start there.

What's next · AI as amplifier

AI does not replace my experience. AI amplifies it.

Twenty-two years of experience, insight and relationships — and now an amplifier that lets them work at a scale one person could never reach alone.

Structure the experienceTwenty-two years of trade, manufacturing and market knowledge — organised so it can actually be used.
Turn insight into reachWhat I see becomes writing, visuals and concepts — published across channels and languages, without a large team behind it.
Turn one person into a systemA personal business system, where one linker's capability reaches many markets.

AI does not replace twenty-two years. It multiplies them.

We don't just connect the dots.
We create what wasn't possible before.

That is the Magic for Link.
07 — BEFORE YOU ASK

Straight answers, before you ask.

What exactly do you do for a buyer?

A product, taken from idea to your warehouse door: design and BOM, factory selection and audit, cost structure, QC, container loading, shipping documents — spoken from both sides, because I have run the factory and I have sat on the buyer's side.

Will you compete with my customers?

No. I never stand in front of your customer. Your market stays yours; I build the engine behind it. That rule is written into how every partnership here was structured.

How do I know quality won't disappoint me?

I don't ask you to trust a promise — scroll up and look at the real bilingual inspection checklists: defects photographed and named, BIFMA-class components written into the terms, whole batches rejected in red. I inspect like a buyer, because I was one.

What about MOQ and price?

Straight numbers, matched to your market and volume — including the container mathematics most suppliers never show you. One message and the GHLA 2026 Brand Book is on its way.

How do we start?

One WhatsApp message is enough. You get an honest answer within 24 hours — including “I'm not the right person for this” if that is the truth. The first conversation costs nothing.
